Blue Ridge
Historically, Blue Ridge was a business center because of the Marietta & North Georgia Railroad. Today, it has been in Southern Living Magazine twice. Once for being ranked as one of the South’s Best Mountain Towns in 2020, and the other article announcing it in the list of Top Small Mountain Towns for Retirement in 2019. Blue Ridge is located in Fannin County and only 90 miles away from Atlanta. 40%, or 106,000 acres, of Blue Ridge is protected from growth as it is a part of the Chattahoochee National Forest. This offers over a hundred miles of trout streams (tributaries of the Toccoa & Conasauga Rivers) and three-hundred miles of great hiking trails. Visit the many orchards, picturesque wineries, and riding stables in the surrounding areas of Downtown Blue Ridge.
The downtown area of Blue Ridge offers modern restaurants, breweries, galleries and upscale shopping. Stroll through town and admire the train that still runs as the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, a small park area and the quaint streets with so many friendly people walking about.
